1/52 – a blog project

At the end of last year, I joined a photography group whose purpose is to shoot and post at least 1 non-work-related photo each week during 2010. The goal is to shoot for ourselves and for fun, not just for our clients. There are no real rules — we can shoot anything which means we are only limited by our own imagination. Some group members are doing a 52 week self-portrait project, while others are just going with a hodge-podge of subjects — whatever inspires them at the time. I’m in the latter category, so there’s no telling what might pop up on the blog over the next year. Of course, I’m already late posting for the first week, so I’ll be catching up by posting twice this week.

Isn’t this leaf awesome? I was out walking one day last week when I spotted this. It was an ordinary day and I wasn’t doing anything special – just piddling around outside, actually. But the way the sun hit the lone leaf on this particular tree caught my eye and just spoke to me. I was reminded of God’s handiwork and that the beauty in this life can be found in the simplest and smallest of things – if we open our eyes and take the time to look for it.
