3/52 blog project- Jake

Week 3 of my Year in Photos project.

This is our big boy, Jake, a shelter/rescue dog Jeff got about 10 years ago. He is just the sweetest dog and if ever there were one whose only goal in life is to love and be loved, it is Jake!

Shortly after moving back to Raleigh, Jeff found about Jake through a local radio station’s “pet of the week” feature. An [alleged] victim of abuse, then year-old Jake had landed at a local shelter with the hope of being adopted. As is too often the case, he was passed over and the time was nearing for him to be put down. Knowing he was in great physical shape and simply needed the right person to come along, a local vet clinic saved him from his impending demise and worked hard to find him a great home. After hearing about him on the radio, Jeff went to check him out and it was love at first sight — for both Jake and Jeff! Ten years later, they are still nearly inseparable!

If you’re thinking about getting a dog, please check out your local SPCA or other dog rescue organization. They always loaded with dogs who need lots of love and a good home!

Who knows what Jake is tracking here, but his sniffer was really working overtime.
