a birthday fit for a water princess

I can hardly believe that my niece turned four at the end of the summer. It seems like just yesterday she was born….and here she is – a FOUR YEAR OLD! Actually she’s four going on TWENTY-FOUR! She loves the water and she loves the Disney princesses — so what better summer birthday party than a Little Mermaid pool party?

I know what you’re thinking! I thought it too. And yes, my sister IS nuts for planning that one for a bunch of four- and five-year-olds. But, all the kids had an absolute blast playing in the pool all afternoon and Lynley went home a water-logged – but happy – little princess!  Lynley and her favorite Uncle Jeff before the party. She was giving him a pre-party thank you for manning the grill! Lynley’s new bike…she thinks she’s hot stuff! I can’t remember what i asked her but this is the face she always makes when it’s a silly question and the answer is NO! It was a hot day so the cool water was a really good idea!
Uncle Jeff…hard at work! This is future blackmail right here! The red koolaid mustache just makes me laugh! Apparently that was g-o-o-o-o-d watermelon! What’s a Little Mermaid party without the mermaid???? You knew there had to be an Ariel sighting somewhere! ……..And, for the record, just how KEWL is this cake? After creating my wedding cake last year, Cinda of Cinda’s Cakes does all of our family’s cakes now. She hit it out of the park with this one! There were presents galore…she got toys, clothes, art supplies and more!
