dana + tim: the night before | raleigh, nc wedding photographer

I can’t begin to tell you how honored I am to have been included in Dana and Tim’s wedding weekend – not only as their friend but also as one of their photographers. I had the pleasure of photographing their rehearsal at Edenton Street Methodist Church and later, their rehearsal dinner at Bogart’s in downtown Raleigh. As a recent newlywed myself, I know how quickly things happen and how easy it is for the festivities to become a blur. I hope Dana, Tim and their friends and family members will be able to look back on these images and years from now relive all the joy, nervous excitement, happy tears and love of this moment with fond memories. Thank you, my friends, for allowing me to share this weekend with you – there’s truly no other place I would have rather been. Now, without further ado…more of their weekend – through my eyes.

How gorgeous is this church? Arriving at the church — so Sex and the City-esque….. Seeing each other for the first time that day… A personal favorite: in case you missed it the first time, here it is again. I love the look of sheer excitement and anticipation they share.
Another of my favorite images. Maybe ever. The two most important men in Dana’s life… I’m not sure who loves her more. And yet another favorite (yes, i can have that many!)…they always say you’ll know how a man will treat you by the way he loves and respects his mother.
Here comes the bride… Everyone cracked up when Danny refused to give the bride away!

Practicing the ‘I Dos’ and vows…

The rehearsal dinner was held at the fabulous Bogart’s in downtown Raleigh — I just had to capture an image of the namesake…

Seeing the groom’s cake for the first time….a red-velvet replica of Jimmy Buffet’s guitar for this huge Buffett fan (a total surprise for Tim). I think he was blown away. Tim surprised his mother with one of her father’s handkerchiefs to use during the wedding. She was shocked! I love this image of the flower girl and junior bridesmaid…they were like two little peas in a pod and had a blast all weekend! Was the cake as yummy as it was cool? I can personally say ‘Why yes. Yes it was!’ (you know i’m not going to turn down a piece of cake!)
Tim’s dad and best man sharing stories about the couple… Vikki, Dana’s mother, shared a few words as well…
Not to be outdone, Tim gets in on the act and shares, Letterman style, the top ten reasons he knew Dana was ‘the One’… Tim surprised Dana with a honeymoon to Pink Sands and the Atlantis in the Bahamas and Key West… think she was a little excited? As Vikki so eloquently put it – I hope you always look at each other and feel about each other the way you did on this night. Congratulations and much love to you both!
