debbie + will: engaged | wake forest/raleigh engagement

Some people are destined to be together. Take Debbie and Will, whose crossing paths have spanned a lifetime. They’ve known each other forever. Literally. In fact, Will was Debbie’s boyfriend. In the THIRD grade.

Though they went to the same elementary school for a couple of years, they went to different junior high and high schools. Later, they found themselves attending the same college and were always cordial to one another, though they never dated. For years, they worked out at the same gym and saw each other nearly every night, and a real friendship was started. Even though Debbie always thought Will was the sweetest guy she knew, there were simply friends.  They both entered relationships with other people, and eventually ended up marrying them. Both of their marriages ended at some point…and their paths crossed again.

God has a funny way of doing that. He works things out for you when you least expect it! Like when Debbie walked into her church one Sunday last February. And there he sat. They made sure they talked to one another as they left the service and, soon after, became Facebook friends. It was there that they reminisced and eventually discovered that they have so much in common.

One day out of the blue, Will sent Debbie a message asking her out to lunch. It was there that she discovered that he had wanted to ask her out forever, but never thought she would be interested. Funny, since she had been interested all along. They went to lunch on April 6, 2009  – and have been together ever since.

The story doesn’t end there. But, you’ll have to come back in a few weeks for the rest of the story. Debbie and Will are now engaged and I’ll be shooting their wedding on April 2.
