Downtown Durham wedding | Lucy + Ryan

THEY’RE OPPOSITES IN MANY RESPECTS: Lucy enjoys photography and scrapbooking and is a UNC girl through and through. She’s a girly girl and a bit sassy. Ryan likes cooking, hunting and is a diehard ECU Pirate. And he’s all guy! Yet, anyone who has spent any time around Lucy and Ryan know that they’re alike in all the ways that truly matter. They’re laid back and relaxed. They’re comfortable – as individuals and as a couple. They both know how important it is to laugh with one another and they believe strongly in the importance of family. And they’re head-over-heels in love. They’re a perfect match, in fact. He’s the yin to her yang. The jelly to her peanut butter. (Which they both – weirdly amazingly – like all mixed up together before it goes on the bread). The Ricky Ryan to her Lucy. You know — a perfect match.

So on a glorious fall afternoon, Lucy and Ryan stood in front of friends, family, and God, pledging their lives and love to one another. Promising to cherish and revel in their similarities and embrace their differences. To remain the perfect match. Forever.

Lucy and Ryan, Because YOU are nothing short of wonderful, so was your wedding day. Thank you for inviting me into your lives, making me part of the family and allowing me to celebrate this day with you. I know it is only the beginning of all kinds of awesomeness for you both! Enjoy some of my favorite photos from their sweet Durham wedding. What else would a Carolina girl wear than blue shoes? Fall in North Carolina is so colorful and I love that Lucy chose to highlight those rich colors in her flowers and decor. Gorgeous! I love when couples opt to have a first look – it provides such a sweet, tender moment for them to be alone during an otherwise hectic day. Lucy and Ryan’s was no exception – beautiful and full of emotion.  How stinkin’ cute is little Beau? Cutest. tyke. ever!  This reaction to the kiss just makes me smile!
