“But somewhere down the
road, our roads are gonna cross again;
It doesn’t
really matter when.
Somewhere down the
road, I know that heart of yours will
come to see that you belong with me.” ~ Barry Manilow
Clair and Seth first met when she was in high school. They were in two different places in their lives, so it was nothing more than a chance meeting. Like those two famous ships that pass in the night. Then, as fate would have it, their paths crossed again a few years later, this time through a dear family friend. Seth, then a teacher, also cooked for private parties on the side. So when Seth showed up to cater a dinner party for Clair’s family, the two were reconnected. And a plan was hatched. Clair hired Seth to cook for her mom’s birthday party. Then, invited him to stay and enjoy the after party with them. Little by little, Clair and her family found reasons for Seth to continue to come around. Tutoring her sister. Cooking for more dinner parties. And then it happened. A friendship – and later a romance – developed. And, like Barry so eloquently sang – Seth finally realized that his heart belonged with Clair.
He proposed this past June and they will be getting married next March at Edenton Street United Methodist Church. I just can’t WAIT to celebrate with them! I recently met up with them at the NC Museum of Art to photograph their engagement session, and we had such a great time together! Here are some of my favorites from our time together – Enjoy!
