If you wanna know Mark’s sweet side, soft side, and best side, he just points at Lauren! This adorable couple met back in 2010 when they were both students at NC State, when Mark and his roommate—In matching “workout” outfits— confidently sat next to Lauren before one of the classes they had together. After becoming great friends, Mark sure was persistent in making Lauren his girl! After having asked her on dates for 5 months, Lauren finally agreed to go out with him, and they have been together ever since!
Lauren describes their relationship as “very simple and sweet”, and it sure is! The two are extremely family-oriented, and Lauren even says she knew Mark was the one after meeting each other’s families and already feeling right at home! Mark and Lauren are so smitten with each other- they love each other’s kind, caring and loving personalities. They love to do just about everything together- whether it be cheering on the Wolfpack, trying out new restaurants, or shagging to the newest beach music.
Lauren thought the night Mark proposed was going to be another typical Friday night running errands at the mall and grabbing a bite to eat at PF Chang’s (where they had also had their first date). The baseball team had just won a game, so Mark suggested the two rode by the Belltower to see it lit up red. What Lauren wasn’t expecting to see when they got there, though, was the love of her life on one knee with a gorgeous ring and a custom fortune cookie with the message inside: “Lauren, will you marry me?” Lauren was so surprised and thrilled to start the new chapter in their lives together! (And he even had an extra made so we could use it during their engagement session! This guy thinks of everything.)
Mark was on the NC State golf team and Lauren was on the dance team so it was only fitting that we took their engagement photos at the Lonnie Poole Golf Course and main campus.. Enjoy photos from this #throwbackthursday NC State engagement session. And, as always, GO PACK!
