The Patapsco Female Institute ~ Ellicott City wedding | Hannah + Michael

THERE IS LOVE. And there is love. And then there’s the kind of love that fairytales are written about. The kind of love that Hannah and Michael share. No. Seriously. When Hannah and Michael are in the same room, you almost expect bluebirds to start sewing a dress for her. They’re just that sweet and that much in love. You can see it in the way his eyes crinkle because he smiles just a little bit wider when he sees her. You can see it in the way her eyes light up, yet her head bows just a little in bashful flirtation and adoration. The way they’re both like giddy teenagers when they’re together. Yep. Mr. Disney himself couldn’t have scripted their love story and their wedding day any more perfectly.

In a beautiful old church high atop a hill in quaint Ellicott City, Maryland, the people Hannah and Michael love most gathered to witness the beginning of their “happily ever after.” Not an eye was dry as the pair professed the depths of their love for one another in a beautiful ceremony followed by a celebration to rival Cinderella’s ball at Patapsco Female Institute.

Hannah and Michael, Like your love, working with you over the months was like a fairytale! Thank you for welcoming me like part of the family and allowing me to document the beginning of your new life together. I am honored and humbled beyond words. Thank you for being you and for showing that true love exists outside of fairytales! May your love continue to grow with each passing day ~ I wish you many, many years of happiness together! Much love! OXOX ~R

Hannah and Michael opted for a first look and it was honestly one of the most heartfelt and emotional ones I’ve witnessed. I love Michael’s expression as he waits for Hannah – and I love his reaction to knowing she’s right behind him even more! Their excitement just couldn’t be contained! And a fist-pump! Priceless! LOVE!

The “shoebox” is a play on their last name (Shoemaker) and was a replica of their townhouse….how cute is that??

Many, many thanks to my friend Susie for photographing this wedding with me! You are so awesome! OXOX
