Raleigh Fletcher Park engagement | Heather + Dolph

THIS LOVE STORY CAN BE SUMMED UP IN FIVE WORDS. “It was meant to be.” Or “MINTZ to be,” as it were. (Dolph’s last name is Mintz, if you haven’t figured that out already.) Heather and Dolph believe that God was their matchmaker and that they were put in the right place at just the right time (twice!) so they could find each other. To share their lives, and their love, making them feel happy and blessed.

As a pharmaceutical sales rep, Heather called on Dolph’s father, who would always say to her “Do you know my son, Dolph? You really need to meet him.” Heather finally got her chance at a Christmas party. They met. They chatted casually. And then they went their separate ways – Dolph back to law school in Tulsa and Heather back to her life and job here in Raleigh – totally unaware of the great love they would soon share. A love that was meant to be!

A few years later, there was another chance meeting. Upon learning that he had passed the NC Bar Exam, Dolph disregarded torrential downpours from Hurricane Irene and drove from Kinston to Raleigh, eager to celebrate. Dolph and his friends walked into a bar and who was also there with her friends? Heather, of course. Remember those five words? It was meant to be.

Heather admits that she knew Dolph was the one that very night because time stood still. There they were – standing in the same place talking for two hours, totally forgetting about the friends they came with. She loved how easy their conversation was and how much they had in common. Exactly eight months later, Dolph proposed by surprising her in her apartment with flowers, candles and champagne. A quick “yes” was followed by a “Please tell me you asked my dad!” Which was followed by relief and excitement as they called their family and friends to share the good news.

I had a blast photographing their engagement photos at Fletcher Park in Raleigh and can’t wait for their wedding later this Spring! They have a hard time being serious – Dolph is always making Heather laugh. Beyond the love that they share, you can see that they genuinely like each other as well. Their love is so obvious and overflowing – as evidenced by the twinkle Dolph gets in his eyes when Heather smiles at him. Clearly, they were meant/Mintz to be!!
