Raleigh St. David’s School Wedding // Lauren + Garrison

“I will follow you…Follow you wherever you may go.
There isn’t an ocean too deep or a mountain so high it can keep me away.

I must follow you…Ever since you touched my hand I know
That near you I always must be and nothing can keep you from me.
You are my destiny.”

NEVER BEFORE HAVE THE WORDS to this song been more applicable to a couple. Lauren and Garrison’s relationship began at Furman University in South Carolina and it has taken them to the ends of the earth. Literally. They’ve crossed state lines – and oceans – from South Carolina to China and back to North Carolina. And all the while their love has not just persisted, but grown.

On what had to have been the most perfect day in Raleigh, Garrison took Lauren’s hands and, in front of friends and family, they promised to continue their journey down whatever path life leads them. Together. Forever.

Lauren and Garrison…I’ve loved getting to know you and your sweet families and will always treasure our time together. I hope your life together is long and always filled with love, devotion, friendship and laughter. And that your passport is stamped over and over again! Enjoy the journey! Much love! OXOX ~R

Lauren’s custom gown was just stunning — the lace detail was spectacular and her “something blue” was the bluebird of happiness that was taken from one of Lauren’s childhood dresses and sewn into the hem of her gown.

The getting ready time is such a special one for mothers and daughters…Lauren and her mother Ronda were full of emotion. A favorite capture! Lauren and Rhett….how adorable is he???  Lauren’s flowers were absolutely S-TU-N-N-I-N-N-G!! Seriously. GORGEOUS!

I love these portraits of Lauren – so princess-like.

Oh my sweet word! GORGEOUS!!!

Garrison incorporated special details into the day too — he wore his grandfather’s cufflinks.
Love these portraits of the handsome groom! Lauren and Garrison wanted to have a chance to talk to each other but didn’t want to actually see each other before the wedding. So they did a “no look first look”. They were so overcome with emotion that it was hard for them not to pop around the corner and into each other’s arms.

After Lauren and Garrison had some private time, we went out with the bridal party to take a few portraits.

LOVE!!

A super sweet moment between Lauren and her parents. These are the moments that they’ll cherish forever! Love this look of joy on Garrison’s face as he waits for Lauren.
I love this image of Lauren and her dad just before they walk down the aisle.  The look of love – and pride… Cutest. flower. girls. ever.
Yep. E-V-E-R!! They’re a quiet couple but ohmysweetword can they work a camera!
The cocktail hour portion of the reception was a tribute to the time Lauren spent working in China. LOVE!  And the reception inside….beyond gorgeous!!
A final dance – loveloveLOVE that the guests had the bubbles going!

A HUGE thank you to my colleague and friend Wade Alexander for photographing this wedding with me! You rock!
