dana + tim married: how sweet it is! | raleigh, nc wedding and lifestyle photographer

A couple of weeks ago, Jeff and I had the pleasure to attend the wedding of my good friend Dana. As much as I love weddings – and love photographing them – it was so much fun to attend this one in the role of guest rather than photographer. I’ve known Dana for over half of her life (yes! literally half) and have watched her achieve a number of things during that time. None, however, were better than watching her marry Tim, truly the man of her dreams.

I’m so glad we were able to witness their wedding – words really can’t describe how beautiful it was. Sure, it was beautiful because of the details and the flowers and the dresses and all the ‘pretty people’ – both in the wedding party and among the guests. But it was more beautiful because of the love the surrounded the entire event. The love of the couple for each other and for their family and friends. And the love of family and friends for the couple and for each other. It truly was one of the most sincere and touching weddings I’ve ever attended – a real testament to Dana and Tim.

And the party? Now this girl and her mama know how to throw a party! I guess that’s one of the many reasons why we’re all friends! The Capital City Club was, in usual fashion, an awesome venue for a partay! The flowers were gorgeous (a major shout out to my own florist, Lyn and Fresh Affairs). The food was fantastic. But the Craig Woolard Band – one of my personal favorites – was the highlight of the evening. Craig and his guys had the dance floor rockin’ from the first note until the last. I love beach music and I love to shag, so I couldn’t wait to get my boogie shoes out on the dance floor! What fun — I think I danced with everyone who could move that night!

While I took my camera to the reception to capture my own personal memories with some of my best friends also in attendance, I couldn’t help taking a few photos of the happy couple and their families throughout the night as well. Since I was on the dance floor half the night, Jeff had his turn with the camera too.

I just love how Dana and Tim were absolutely beaming when they were introduced.

The awesome Craig Woolard Band – they’ll be playing the midtown beach music series at North Hills on Thursday, July 29. (No, I’m really not a groupie, but I will be there to see them that night!)

The first dance — (I’m Gonna Do) Beautiful Things…

It was so much fun catching up with dear friends Jenn, Bob, Charlene and Gilbert. We laughed and talked and danced until we just couldn’t anymore. And then we laughed and talked and danced some more anyway.

Celebrating Dana and Tim’s wedding AND over 20 years of friendship with Lane and Jennifer. Seems like just yesterday we were all celebrating my own wedding! Love and miss you guys! I just don’t get to see these dear friends often enough!

How did Jenn get so lucky that night? We love our handsome men!

Love this photo of Dana and Danny during their dance…there’s no doubt that he absolutely adores her.

Y’all know I can’t resist a piece of wedding cake. Someone mused that it was too pretty to cut — and while it was beautiful – no cake is ever too pretty to cut. I can personally verify that this red velvet cake was as yummy as it was gorgeous!

Love these – they were so sweet.

The toasts by the fathers brought out every emotion imaginable…..from hysterical laughter with Danny….to sweet, happy tears from Tim’s dad…. cheers and best wishes to you both!

How can you not LOVE love….and this couple?!?! This is soooo Dana, my friend…

We loooove beach music….and shaggin’ the night away…

Sterling’s seal of approval….and Mackenzie and Anna Scott hamming it up on the dance floor. You’ll see more photos of Mackenzie on the blog in coming weeks….

Tim and his cousin Anna Scott – how sweet are they?

Two of my favorite moments of the night: both the ringbearer AND the bride share the mic with Craig Woolard….

Congratulations Dana and Tim! God has a funny way of bringing friends together when they least expect it and when the timing is right. We’re grateful for your friendship and so happy were could share in this special day with you. OXOX
