kate’s bridal shower | raleigh wedding and portrait photographer

I was recently commissioned to photograph the bridal shower for Kate, who is currently living in Colorado. She and her fiance will be getting married next month in a private ceremony in Australia. Since neither family nor friends will be joining them as they take their vows, her aunts pulled out all the stops for a fabulous celebration held at the beautiful home of her aunt Becky’s best friend here in Raleigh.   I wish Kate and her fiance a long life together filled with love, joy and happiness. I am happy to have met Kate and honored to have been asked to document this party for her. I hope you enjoy the images as much as I enjoyed taking them.

The walkway to the Vikki’s home was lined with these adorable little flags.  The guests left notes of well wishes and advice for the happy couple in this scrapbook….

I always love photographing the details of an event and this one was no exception! Gorgeous table decorations…
These calla lillies made a spectacular centerpiece for the hors d oeuvres table…
There was certainly no shortage of food and wine!

These little dresses are so perfect for a girly-girl party! LOVE them (and aren’t those frilly little hangers just the cutest ever??) Gifts for the bride-to-be… Kate was overcome with emotion after reading a sweet card from her mother… The cake featuring decadent white chocolate seashells….and ribbons for the bridesmaid’s pull – an old southern tradition!
The bride and her girls each got a ribbon to pull….
Pulling the ribbons….
Kate’s aunt read a special poem written for Kate’s ribbon pull — that shared the significance of family and friends and each charm in Kate’s life. Usually each bridesmaid would attach her charm to her bouquet for the wedding, but since Kate is getting married out of the country, the girls gave her their charms to attach to her bouquet so she would know they were with her in spirit on her big day! Kate’s Aunt Becky and Vikki…there’s nothing like best friends! Good food. Good friends. Good times!

A little girl talk…

All the girls in Kate’s family — Kate, her mother, her sisters, her niece and her aunts…
