They’re “all boy” ¦ Raleigh children’s photographer

Could these two boys BE any cuter (yes, you really must read that in Chandler’s voice!)??

I was excited when my friend Bethany emailed to schedule a photo session with her boys, 6-year-old Tull and his 2-year-old brother, Conner. I wasn’t sure what to expect from the session when we first arrived at the park. Connor had just gotten up from his nap and was still a little sleepy. While Tull seemed excited about having his picture made and took directions like a little pro, Conner was a little unsure about leaving his mother’s side. In fact, I thought Bethany was going to have to be in all the pictures with him. But, after just a few minutes, he was fully awake and warmed right up to me and to the idea of having his photograph taken.

In fact, I’m thinking ‘warmed up’ may be an understatement. These two brothers were full of life, energy and laughter. In fact, they were on the go the entire time which really kept me on my toes. I had to be quick – real quick – to get shots of these little guys. For a while, Connor apparently thought we were playing a game called ‘keep away from the camera’. At the very split second i was about the take a shot, he’d take off running in the other direction. I’m thinking chasing a two-year-old with a camera counts for exercise, right? Anyway, we had loads of fun that afternoon. I managed to get some great shots on the dock and over on the other side of the lake where the boys enjoyed playing on the banks. Especially once they found sticks. BIG sticks. As is typical of little boys, big sticks + water = lots of splashes and laughter (and pretty good photos, too)!

I can’t wait until the spring so we can have another session. In the meantime, here are some of my favorite images from our session.

And a couple of great ones of the boys playing in the water. They were totally into splashing with the sticks — and Connor completely amused himself — and me — by jumping in the edge.
